You're invited to...


Verses & Ventures is a day-long celebration of creative writing in tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs), blending imaginative workshops, thematic talks, and fantasy marketplace in a whimsical Feywild setting. This is a festival of words, for writers, GMs, poets, and story-lovers, crafted to inspire narrative invention and TTRPG expression. Join us for a day of creativity, storytelling, and TTRPGs writing. Whether you're a writer looking to craft unforgettable stories, a GM seeking new ways to build worlds, or a TTRPG enthusiast who loves exploring narratives, Verses & Ventures offers something for everyone. From deep dives into adventure writing to hands-on workshops on worldbuilding, come share your passion for creative storytelling with others and gain new skills in a vibrant, collaborative environment.

3 Immersive Zones & Activities:

  • The Garden of Arcadia: Fantasy Marketplace (Open All Day)

    • A magical marketplace filled with handcrafted items, books, and TTRPG gear to ignite your creativity.

      • The Apothecary:

        • Pre-bottled poetry: $3–6

        • Custom spell scrolls & potions: $4

        • Request custom-written poetry, antidotes, potions, or poisons based on themes you choose.

      • The Bookstore:

        • Browse a curated collection of indie fantasy books, poetry zines, and TTRPG accessories.

        • Preorders for upcoming titles, works by local authors (Lynette Teo, Cleo Cheng, Chaerin Jung, etc.)

        • Shop for D&D class cards, Nat 1/20 cards, and more!


  • Stage Talks (Free)

    • Get inspired by engaging speaker sessions designed to deepen your understanding of creative writing and worldbuilding. Gain insights and techniques for crafting memorable adventures and stories.

      • 3:00 – 4:00 PM: Writing a Book Inspired by TTRPGs Learn how to translate the storytelling elements of TTRPGs into compelling novels, focusing on character development, worldbuilding, and plot structure.

      • 5:00 – 6:00 PM: Adventure Writing: Fey Fantasy Version Explore the unique tropes and structures of Feywild-inspired adventures. Discover how to blend whimsical fantasy with deep storytelling elements that can drive exciting TTRPG sessions.

      • 7:00 – 8:00 PM: Writing Magic Systems, Monsters, and Other Machinations Dive into the creative process of designing your own magic systems, crafting unique monsters, and building compelling narratives that include the magical and the monstrous.


  • Interactive Workshops (Ticketed)

    • Get hands-on and apply your learning with these immersive workshops. With a focus on narrative-driven exercises and practical tips, our guides Lynette & Cheryl will walk you through each session.

      • 2:00 – 3:00 PM: Fairytales & Reinvention Explore the deeper meanings of traditional fairytales and how to modernize them for your writing or TTRPG campaigns. Uncover the hidden themes and symbolism that can give your stories more depth.

      • 4:00 – 5:00 PM: Heroes & Villains Dive into the psychology of character creation. Learn to build compelling protagonists and antagonists that drive your plot and connect with your audience.

      • 6:00 – 7:00 PM: Fantasy Worldbuilding Build your very own enchanting settings. Learn how to make your fantasy worlds feel alive and immersive, using geography, culture, and politics to create depth in your stories.


Speaker & Guides Bios:

  • Lynette Teo: A writer with an MA in Writing from the University of Warwick, Lynette has published short stories in Singapore and the UK, including the upcoming Bad Boys Good Ends (Asian mythology-inspired collection). Lynette is also a poet, with collections like Away From Fairies (2022) IG: @alyngeringthought

  • Cheryl (Cleo Cheng): A media professional in New York City, Cheryl writes under the pseudonym Cleo Cheng. A Golden Point Award-winning poet and author of Mirror Monster Dagger Doom, a silkpunk fantasy story collection inspired by TTRPGs. IG: @misscleocheng, @atelier.arcadia
