The Tithe (2 Nov)

The Tithe

A Ravenloft Level 2 One-Shot. Beginner Friendly.

In the Domains of Dread, not every horror announces itself.

The village of Viktal is holding the Tithe: a beloved annual celebration honouring their god, Mother. The villagers are friendly, the traditions are charming, and the leader Wyan has extended a warm personal invitation for your party to participate.

There are games. There is a feast. There are flowers and bonfires and hymns.

There is also something at the edge of the field that the villagers do not talk about.

The Tithe is a slow-burn gothic horror one-shot set in the Domains of Dread, the kind of adventure that builds its dread not through monsters in the dark but through the particular unease of a community that is just slightly off. Everything is fine. Everyone is friendly. And the longer you stay, the more certain you become that something here is very, very wrong.

A beginner-friendly entry into Ravenloft’s folk horror tradition.

Highlights

• Folk Horror at its Best: The village is friendly, that is exactly the problem

• Ravenloft Domains of Dread: Gothic horror where the threat hides in plain sight

• Play the Games: Participate in the Tithe’s competitions, your results matter more than you know

• The Feast: Generous, abundant, and strongly encouraged by the locals

• A Conclusion That Changes Shape: How the night ends depends entirely on what your party does
