About the Event
Returning due to overwhelming popularity after a completely sold-out run in 2021, Checkpoint Theatre introduces a fresh interpretation of Session Zero!
In this rendition, an estranged couple endeavors to reestablish their connection by engaging in a game of Dungeons & Dragons. However, the conflicts that arise in their daily lives unavoidably spill over into the fantastical battlefield. Given the complexities accumulated over their years together, can this immersive experience aid them in rekindling the vital bond they're missing?
With artful precision, playwright Jo Tan crafts a subtle depiction of a divide that swallows unspoken sentiments. As the echoes of their forgotten shared language reverberate through their existence, they must uncover the very words that initially united them.
Under the direction of dramaturg Huzir Sulaiman, this intimate two-person performance, featuring Jo Tan and Brendon Fernandez, tenderly explores matters of the heart through a narrative capable of inflicting wounds and fostering healing.
