About the Event

Magic: The Gathering's Draft mode is a popular limited format where players construct decks in real-time from a limited pool of cards using a drafting process. It's a unique and social way to play Magic that tests skills in card evaluation, deck building, and adaptability.

Drafting is prized for its strategic depth and unpredictability. It tests players' abilities to evaluate cards, make quick decisions, and adapt to the evolving card pool. Because players are working with a limited card pool, they must be resourceful in building a cohesive deck with the cards they've drafted.

Per Participant $15 = 3 Sealed Draft boosters + Lands needed to form your deck.

Limited to 8 players.

Rules.

  • Each player starts with three booster packs of the Wilds of Eldraine card set.
  • The draft consists of three rounds, with each round corresponding to one booster pack. In each round, players open their packs, choose one card to add to their card pool, and pass the remaining cards to the player on their left (in the first round), or to the right (in the second round), and alternate directions in subsequent rounds. This process continues until all the cards are drafted.
  • After drafting, players have a pool of cards from which they must build a minimum 40-card deck (including lands). They can add as many basic lands (like Plains, Islands, Swamps, Mountains, or Forests) as they want to complete their deck.
  • Players then compete against each other using the decks they constructed. Typically, matches are best-of-three games. In between games, players can sideboard, swapping out cards from their deck with cards from their drafted card pool to adapt to their opponent's strategy.
