This workshop is designed to help GMs confidently design and run age-appropriate, high-energy, safe, and joyful sessions for younger players, without burning out or losing control of the table. You’ll learn how to design and run games specifically tailored for kids as young as 6 to 12 years old.

We will cover how to simplify complex rules without taking away a child's sense of agency, focusing instead on building clear goals, relatable villains, and stakes that resonate with them. Get practical advice on managing table energy, noise levels and attention spans, as well as techniques for encouraging teamwork and handling emotional moments or conflicts when they arise.

We’ll also dive into the GM mindset needed for youth play, learning how to say “yes” to big imaginations while maintaining enough structure to keep the game on track. Finally, we’ll discuss how to set clear expectations with both kids and parents so that every session ends on a high note.

We’ll focus on practical tools for:

• Keeping kids engaged without overstimulation
