Suddenly, you’re making decisions in real time, under pressure, while trying to keep the story engaging and the table confident in your leadership.

GM Fundamentals: Building GM Confidence Through Improv is a practical workshop designed to help GMs build confidence through improvisation techniques that directly support better game flow, stronger storytelling, and calmer decision-making at the table.

This workshop isn’t about becoming a performer or doing comedy. It’s about learning how to say “yes, and” to uncertainty, how to trust your instincts and how to turn unexpected moments into strengths rather than stress points.

We’ll explore how improv principles apply to tabletop games: responding instead of freezing, reframing mistakes, keeping scenes moving and maintaining authority even when you’re inventing on the spot.

Through discussion, examples, and low-pressure exercises, you’ll develop tools that help you stay present, adaptable and confident as a GM.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how to improvise without panic, how to recover smoothly when things derail and how to project confidence, even when you’re making it up as you go.
